A New Niche into Adsense

I became increasingly interested into using Adsense and highly optimized keyword sites to create a new revenue stream.

I came across a guy named Mike Kotzakolios. Mike "BIG MIKE" as he calls himself creates these awesome website that are extremely easy to set up. The sites are generated for niches of all sorts. I happened to pick his web hosting nice site. Once I had it all set up I was attempting to decide how to promote it. Yes I have been in internet marketing forever but there are a ton of different methods and this is a whole new experiment for me.

Mike has put together an awesome forum that gives you some basic starting points for getting your site listed.

1. Get an XML Sitemap. Do a little research on creating one. Big Mike program for creating the one for my site but there are probably a ton of options out there. That will be researched for later posts. Next submit your XML Site map to Google. http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl Apparently your XML sitemap links to everypage in your site and the little google spider loves that because it makes it very easy to find your content. Big plus the more site you get indexed the better your chances of getting listed.

2. Go the MSN and search for your actual domain. In my case I searched for my new little niche site http://web-hosting.fatcatroi.com In the event that your site isn't found in MSN there is a little button that allows you to submit it.

3. Backlinks and crosslinks. I happen to own a buch of sites on the net. Some listed and some not. So I made crosslinks to those sites to my sites.

4. Next write some articles and start submitting them. You can use a service to do this or you can do this to yourself by searching for article submission directories. Post your first article on my site at http://news.mercurymessenger.biz In coming blogs I will list the directories I have found to publisher articles.

5. Get a blog like this one. Google seems to like fresth content. If you can blog with the best of them and blog everyday you have a shot at google coming back and back again to reindex your blog. When they find your blog they find the links to your other sites.

6. Find some forums. I love forums they feed my need for information. On the ocassion that I can actually answer some of the questions on the forum I leave my signature line with a backlink to my new sites. I am told that backlinks into your site are better than reciprical links.

A Ping and a Prayer

Yesterday I took the leap and started my own blog. I have been reading forums and hearing this and that about blog this and blog that and decided I better get on the band wagon or get left behind.

So I did it I went over to blogspot.com got newsmercurymessenger.blogspot.com and viola I have my own blog. Terrific now what in the blank should I do with it. What is this lovely web site going to do to improve my business, web traffic, my income or my life?

Stopped by one of my favorite fishing holes for information. The Warrior Forum and made a quick post. Within minutes I learned I had to ping my blog to get someone interested in looking at it. Next I learned I had to to get Adsense on it to generate some revenue when someone decided to stop by. Finanally I have to be committed to post new info to my blog everyday for it to be a worth while part of my marketing plan.

So there you have it my 2nd day of owning the blog and now I am primed and ready to see if this blog experiment will yeild results for my new web site http://news.mercurymessenger.biz.

Here is a list of sites I found that allow you to PING your new blog day in and day out.

For Parents Wanting to start a business at Home - Perserverance

For Parents Wanting to start a business at Home – Perseverance and a Little Common Sense Advice

Perseverance has got to be part of your business plan when you decide to quit your job, stay home with the kids and make a living.

In 1997 I had my first child. I was prepared to be a stay at home mom until the reality of the one income family sunk in. No more extras. Yes I was truly delighted to be there with my new baby for every coo, expression and moment but when you realize that you are pinching pennies just for the necessities the shiny stay at home mom illusion begins to fade.

Thankfully my husband had purchased a computer for the home right before my first bundle of joy came along. I sat in front of that thing every moment the baby was a sleep or when everyone called it quits for the night. I didn’t have a clue what to do but I knew I had to do something. More on what I did in another article. My husband was reasonably supportive at first but became more and more annoyed about his wife being downstairs at 2am than in bed.

Fortunately I stuck to my perseverance business plan. After another 2am session my husband threatened to throw the computer out on the street. I held my guns and a week later a paycheck arrived. Then another and another and another and another you get the point. Today I make more money from home than 95% of the population of my state does going to work everyday.

There are huge ups and downs and some days I ache for a steady paycheck. On those days I weigh the pros and cons and nearly 8 years later I still can’t see any job being financially or personally as rewarding as running a business from you own home.

I offer this to you. If you are thinking of starting a business from home using the internet here is some of my own personal advice.

Be leery of those offers that tell you $1000 per month your first 30 days. It definitely can happen. I have several friends in the network marketing industry who are making more than 6 figures per year. These stories are absolutely true but be absolutely prepared to sell your butt off day in and day out those first 30 days. If you go this route find the big cheese in your upline. Make friends and copy everything they do down to the letter.

Have cash behind you. No matter if you go with a pre designed business opportunity or you make your own. You are going to need a few months worth of cash on hand to cover your living expenses and your marketing expense. The saying is true you need money to make money. Your marketing budget can be as little as $100 but you must have something to start marketing with. If at all possible at least $3000 spent in the right places can get you started pretty quickly.

Just try. When you come up with your own ideas to make money from home just try. Who gives a darn what people think. You can laugh at them while you are putting your paycheck in the bank and watching your kids reach there latest milestone. There will be those who don’t believe in you. There will be those who are scared senseless to do anything but the 9 – 5 job. Who cares! Let those comments roll off your back. You are going to FAIL and FAIL and FAIL. That’s how you learn. My first pay checks were $5 and $10. I see paychecks coming in now for $5000 and $10,000. I still fail today and will fail tomorrow, but every once in awhile something big happens and gives me enough energy to try the next thing. To this day even after 8 years of making our mortgage payments I still have people that say it will never work.
